Description
The gates and railings at Penylan are made of whitewashed Cilgerran stone and feature iron gates and railings. They have a semi-circular plan with two pairs of piers at the center and a single outer pier at each end. The piers are rusticated and include fluted friezes, cornices, and pyramid caps. The outer walls are low and topped with stone coping. The gates are designed with spearhead rails, strengthening bars, and dog-bars, including a central pair of gates and a small pedestrian gate on each side. The outer walls are also fitted with low spearhead rails.
