Description
Castle House is a building with a Grade II listing. Number 5 features a three-storey front with two windows, finished in scribed render, and includes quoins, cill bands, and a rusticated ground floor with a plinth. Numbers 6 and 7 have two-storey and attic fronts, each with two windows; Number 6 is covered in scribed cement render, while Number 7 has roughcast with quoins and a cill band. Both have rusticated ground floors and plinths. The roofs are slate, with wide boarded eaves on Number 5 and bracket eaves on Numbers 6 and 7, which also have rubble chimney stacks. There are slate-hung dormers, with Number 6 featuring a swept roof and Number 7 a pitched roof, both adorned with cusped bargeboards, pendants, and finials. The sash windows on Numbers 5 and 7 do not have glazing bars, while Number 6 has small panes. Number 5 has a three-storey bay window with panelled aprons, and Number 7 has a similar two-storey bay window. The doorcases have wide bracket cornices, with panelled reveals on Numbers 5 and 6, and reeded half-columns on Number 7; the doors are panelled and half-glazed. The right-hand gable end facing Castle Street features cusped bargeboards and two sash windows. There is a cross range at the rear of Number 6.
