8 Cadwgan Place

8 Cadwgan Place is a Grade II listed building featuring simple classical scribed render fronts with plinths and rusticated quoins, specifically at Nos 8 and 9. No 5 extends to the left over Drury Lane and has a width of three plus one windows, while Nos 6 to 9 are two-window wide. The buildings have slate roofs, wide boarded eaves, and a combination of three rubble and two cement render chimney stacks.

The first floor of No 5 has 12-pane sash windows, while No 6 and the right side of No 8 also feature 12-pane sash windows. Nos 7 and 9 have 4-pane sash windows, and No 5 has 5-light sash windows on the ground floor. No 8 includes a two-storey splayed bay on the left with sash glazing, and No 9 has a ground floor left window with three lights and segmental heads.

The doorways exhibit various styles: No 5 has a rusticated doorway with a voussoir lintel, while Nos 6 to 8 have lugged architraves with ornamental keystones. No 9 has a plain architrave with a keystone. The doors are 6-panel with fanlights for Nos 5 to 8, and a 4-panel door for No 9.

No 5 is locally known as the ‘Stamp House’ and was undergoing renovation at the time of inspection in September 1985.
