Description
2 Tabernacle Street is a group of two-storey buildings featuring three-window simple classical fronts. The buildings at Nos 2 to 4 have a roughcast finish, while No 1 has scribed render and No 5 has plain render, all enhanced with later 19th-century ornamentation. The design includes end pilaster strips, rusticated quoins, and a cill band. The roofs are slate, with three rubble chimney stacks (one heightened in brick) and two rendered chimney stacks.
The windows are predominantly sash style, with glazing bars on the first floors of Nos 1, 2, and 5. Nos 3 and 5 feature lugged architraves and ornamental keystones. No 1 has two splayed bays with sash glazing on the ground floor, topped with a lean-to slate roof and a rope moulded cornice. No 2 has two-pane sash windows on the ground floor, and No 4 has them throughout. No 3 has modern windows. No 5 showcases 12-pane sash windows with lugged architraves and ornamental keystones. The doorways display similar detailing with panelled doors. The right end wall is plain roughcast and includes a garage extension with boarded doors.
