Description
Gerlan is a Victorian building that has undergone alterations. Number 5 features a three-storey, two-window front made of scribed render, with quoins, cill bands, and a rusticated ground floor and plinth. Numbers 6 and 7 have two-storey and attic two-window fronts; No 6 is finished in scribed cement render, while No 7 has a roughcast exterior with quoins and a cill band. Both have rusticated ground floors and plinths. The roofs are slate, with wide boarded eaves on No 5 and bracket eaves on Nos 6 and 7, which also have rubble chimney stacks. There are slate-hung dormers, with No 6 featuring a swept roof and No 7 having a pitched roof adorned with cusped bargeboards, a pendant, and a finial. The sash windows on Nos 5 and 7 lack glazing bars, while No 6 has small panes. No 5 boasts a three-storey bay window with panelled aprons, and No 7 has a similar two-storey bay window. The doorcases have wide bracket cornices, with panelled reveals on Nos 5 and 6, and reeded half-columns on No 7; all feature panelled and half-glazed doors. The right-hand gable end facing Castle Street has cusped bargeboards and two sash windows. Additionally, there is a cross range at the rear of No 6.
