Description
The Green is a two-storey building featuring pebbledash elevations, with window margins and a plinth. It has a slate roof with overhanging boarded eaves and a central stock brick chimney stack that includes arched recesses. The front is symmetrical with three windows and an advanced, gabled central bay, which formerly displayed Gothic ornamented bargeboards, as seen in a view from around 1900. The first floor has small pane sash windows with marginal glazing bars, while the ground floor features similarly glazed French windows. The central window is topped with a Tudor hoodmould, and above it is a circular opening in the gable. The entrance consists of half-glazed double doors. The right gable end has paired sash windows with Tudor hoodmoulds and a pointed arch Gothic attic window. To the right, there is a one-window cross range with a pilaster strip in between, a French window, and a brick chimney stack. The left side has casement windows, and the rear has a four-window twin gabled section with horned sashes and modern windows.
The stable yard retains the main ranges to the west and east, which are constructed of shale with red brick dressings. Evidence of a timber frame can be traced in the kitchen wall. The dining room features plain beams supporting a low ceiling, while the mid-Victorian drawing room is stepped down behind.
