Description

Glandulais Farmhouse is a two-storey house facing north, with a single-storey extension to the west and a two-storey extension at the rear. The walls are made of roughcast brick, topped with a hipped slate roof that features two red brick stacks at the back and sawtooth eaves. The front of the house has four windows, consisting of tripartite windows with thin glazing bars on either side of the entrance on both storeys; the lower storey windows have segmental heads. Above the doorway is a 12-pane hornless sash window. To the left, there is a 12-pane hornless sash window above another 12-pane hornless sash window, both under a round head. The timber doorcase has a segmental hood supported by moulded brackets, and the door itself is a six-panel design with a fanlight above. On the east side, there is a single 12-pane hornless sash window under a round head on the lower storey. The west side features the bay extension with a hipped slate roof and a single 12-pane hornless sash window. The rear of the house was extended and modernised in the late 20th century.

Inside, the layout includes a stair hall with a drawing room and dining room on the left and right. The open-well staircase has scrolled tread ends, fluted balusters, and a wreathed handrail. There are six-panel doors with raised fields throughout. Beneath the stairs, a timber-panelled arch leads to the back rooms. The drawing room features a fluted timber mantlepiece and a plaster ceiling decorated with a musical trophy within husk oval classical border decorations. The dining room has cross-beams.
