Description

Portway is an L-plan farmhouse that dates from the 16th or 17th century, with a main block added around 1800 at right angles to the original range. The earlier range is one-and-a-half storeys high, while the later range is two storeys. The building is constructed of rubble stone, which has been overpainted, and features slate roofs. There is a brick end stack on the left, a ridge stack at the right end, and a projecting lateral stack on the northeast side of the earlier range. The facade includes three windows with various sashes, although the lower right window is a modern replacement. The entrance features a four-panel door with an overlight in the center and another four-panel door located in the right-hand corner.
