Description
Hafod is a 17th-century timber-framed building that runs parallel to the street, featuring early 19th-century alterations to its front. The rear wing dates back to the 16th century and is box-framed. The front has a simple two-storey design with two windows, roughcast walls, and a slate roof. It includes double-hung sash windows with glazing bars set in a flush frame, and a central glazed door that is sheltered by a hood supported on brackets.
Visible parts of the original timber-framed structure can be seen in the front range, which is separated from the older rear wing by a masonry cross wall. Inside, there is a simple timber staircase and a large stone flue next to the Red House.
The rear wing features a gabled and jettied exterior. Inside, the upper floor is open to an ornamental roof that includes cusped collar beams, cusped wind braces, early butt-purlins, and timber studding.
