Description

This is an 18th-century three-storey and basement building with a symmetrical brick facade, later altered in the 19th century, including the addition of a top storey. The building is constructed of red brick, with a slightly projecting central bay, a heavy cornice above the first floor, brick quoins, and a brick string course. It has a slate roof, end brick stacks with gable parapets, and a chimney approximately mid-way along the roofline. The front features three windows on the second floor, one of which is tripartite, and five windows on the first floor, incorporating an added splayed bay extending through the ground and first floors. The windows have brick voussoir heads and sash windows with marginal glazing bars. Two doorways are situated within the outer bays, each featuring fluted door frames, panelled reveals, and recessed doors leading up steps. A large hipped roof and red brick block extend to the rear of the building. The entrance hall is panelled, with arched architraves around the doors, although the condition of other interior spaces has not been assessed.
