Description
No. 4 Cross Houses is a terraced house, part of a row of three. It features a timber-framed structure with mock timber-framing painted over brickwork on the front, while the east gable remains timber-framed. The house has a slate roof with red brick chimney stacks located between Nos 2 and 3, as well as against the east gable of No. 4, which rises through the roof of a former bakehouse.
The building is two storeys high, with each house having a one-window range and a doorway. No. 4 has modern casement windows. The entrance features a ledged door in a frame to the left, which is sheltered by a gabled slated hood, and there is a modern window to the right on each floor. The rear of the house also has a modern window on each floor.
To the right, there is a lower whitewashed stone wing, which was the former bakehouse. This wing has a slate roof and a front window with a brick cambered head, along with modern glazing. The interior has not been inspected.
