Description
No. 1 Cross Houses is an end terrace house built of painted brick, featuring dentilled brick eaves and a steep slate roof that is hipped to the southwest and gabled to the east. The house has a tall red brick chimney stack at the rear northwest gable. It is one storey and has an attic, with a double-fronted design that includes a central doorway flanked by two windows, all with cambered brick heads and modern glazing. The doorway is topped by a gabled hood supported by brackets, above an old door frame that holds a modern door with glazed panels, now situated within a late 20th-century glazed porch. There are two small dormer windows on the eaves, featuring bargeboards and modern paired casements. The west end wall is windowless and made of brick. A modern addition has been made to the rear. The east gable, above No. 2, displays exposed timber framing in square panels. The interior has not been inspected.
