Description
No. 3 Plough Bank is an end-terrace house featuring a painted brick ground floor and a timber-framed upper floor with painted brick infill, topped by a steep slate roof that has a red brick stack on the ridge to the right. The house is two storeys high with an attic and has earlier to mid-20th century metal windows.
On the upper floor, there is a large gabled dormer with mock timber-framing positioned to the left, which is shared with No. 2. This dormer contains a pair of casement windows for No. 2 and a single casement window for No. 3. The first floor has a triple casement window in the center, while the ground floor features a door to the right and a pair of casement windows in the center. The ground floor brickwork projects slightly forward, possibly encasing the timber-frame structure.
The timber-frame above includes a large diagonal brace on the lower right and a smaller diagonal brace on the top left. The northern end gable is constructed of rubble stone. Inside, there are thick stopped and chamfered beams with joists, and a 19th-century staircase with straight balusters.
