Description

The building is a 17th-century four-bay barn located immediately southwest of Lea Farmhouse. It features box-framed construction with square-panel framing, although no original infill remains; stave holes and grooves are still visible. The barn has a later weatherboarded exterior, a low rubble plinth, and a roof that is partly iron and partly slate. It includes boarded doors and shutters. The threshing bay has a large double door entry on the west side and a single door on the east side, which is set over the plinth. The timber framing consists of three panels high with jowelled bay posts. The partition trusses feature a tie-beam with raking braces, and the partition framing includes long angle braces and a central post above a planked base.

Additionally, there is a 19th-century stable constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof and a cambered voussoir head to the door. There is also a 19th-century granary with brick base walls, a stud and weatherboarded loft, a slate roof, stone external steps along the front wall, and a boarded door.
