Cow House and Stable Range at Home farm

The Cow House and Stable Range at Home Farm is a long, two-storey structure that runs parallel to the barn range. It features limewashed dressed and roughly coursed stonework, with the original roof replaced by profile sheeting. The northern section includes a five-door cowhouse, which has three closely spaced doorways in the center and additional doorways at either end, likely for feed-passages, accompanied by slit vents. There are loft openings above the second and fourth doors.

The southern part of the range consists of a five-horse stable, which includes a harness room and a loose box. The stable is symmetrically arranged with a central door flanked by windows, and there is a window above the door. The harness room, located between the stable and the loose box, has a doorway with a window next to it and a loft opening above. The loose box features a single doorway with a window above. The entire structure presents a balanced composition, with an external staircase leading to a loft door in the south gable end.

At the rear of the stable, there is a wide lean-to that accommodates an additional cart shed and stable, along with a smithy in a gabled wing. The smithy has a high and wide doorway in the gable end, as well as wide two-light windows with small panes on each long wall, and a forge fireplace in the corner.

While the fittings in the cowhouse have been lost, the cobbled floors remain. The stables still retain stalls equipped with lateral feed racks and mangers.
