Description

Trebarried Court is a former stable court, now converted into flats. It dates to the 18th century and is constructed of painted rubble stone with stone tiled, bell-cast hipped roofs. The building comprises a three-sided courtyard with an 8-bay north range and 6-bay wings to the east and west. There are renewed gabled dormers; one to each south end, three to each wing, and three to the centre of the north range. Replacement cross-windows are characteristic, with close spacing in the north range and wider spacing in the side wings. Thin stone sills are present. Upper floor openings generally have flat stone lintels, while most ground floor openings feature cambered brick arches.

The west wing has cambered-headed ground floor openings, with doors in the second and fourth bays. Historically there were blind windows in the third and fifth bays, and doors in the fourth and sixth bays. The south end of this wing has two blind windows on each floor. The central north range has doors in the first, fourth, and eighth bays; the left four openings have brick cambered heads, while the right four have flat stone lintels and a dripstone over the eighth opening. Previously, there were blind windows above the first, second, fourth, and eighth windows, a door in the third bay below, and two wide openings in the fourth to seventh bays. A blocked door was present in the eighth bay. The east wing has doors in the second and fifth bays, all openings have flat heads, and most have dripstones. The south end has blind windows with the exception of a ground floor opening on the right-hand side. Historically, a lower loft door was present in the third bay, and on the ground floor, a door in the first bay, a blocked low opening in the third, and a blocked broad opening in the sixth.

The outer west side of the building has two tall red brick wall-face stacks. A blocked cart entry is located to the left, with three cambered-headed windows on each floor to the right, and a stair light at mid-height between the first and second floors. The rear north side features more scattered cambered-headed windows, and a brick stack is present to the right. The building was not inspected.
