Description
45 Salop Road is a town house, likely built around 1830. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof with gable end stacks. The building has three storeys and a three-window range, with a central entrance that is set in a projecting brick porch. This porch is adorned with anthemion motifs in the cast iron railings that form a balcony above it. The entrance includes a six-panelled door topped by a radial fanlight, all framed by a moulded architrave with panelled rebates. The windows on either side of the door are two-pane sashes with flat-arched heads, and the eaves are plain and oversailing.
The property is enclosed by a small forecourt, which is surrounded by cast iron railings arranged in two tiers, featuring spike finials on the rails. This building is a well-preserved and typical example of an early 19th-century town house.
