Description
Hatton House is a town house built in the late 18th century, with some additions from the 19th century. It is constructed of ironstone ashlar and topped with a slate roof. The building features a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a five-window range. The central entrance has a six-panelled door framed by a moulded wood surround, which includes reeded pilasters and an arched fanlight with glazing bars. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, decrease in height on the second floor and are topped with flat arch heads that feature keyblocks. The central windows on the first and second floors have arch heads. The building is adorned with a cyma moulded cornice, and it has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers. There are brick and stone stacks at both ends. At the rear, there is one 18th-century arch-head staircase window. Inside, there is a fine 18th-century staircase with stick balusters surrounding a circular well, along with some six-panelled doors.
