Description
The building known as the Wardens Flat and Communal Facilities at Palmer Court was originally a barn, dating from 1783. It features a T-shaped plan and is constructed from regularly coursed ironstone and limestone, topped with a slate roof. The structure has three bays, and the projecting cross wing includes a segmental carriage arch in the gable end, which has been glazed. The gable parapets and kneelers are made of ashlar. Above the carriage arch, there is a plaque displaying masonic emblems, along with the datestone. Inside, some original roof timbers are still visible. This building was likely used as a carriage house for either Hatton Hall or Hatton House.
