Description
This is a mid-18th century house located at 40 Broad Green. It is constructed from squared coursed ironstone and features a slate roof. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. Originally designed with three windows, it now has two on the ground floor, which are 19th-century sashes, while the first floor retains 18th-century sashes with glazing bars, all set beneath wooden lintels. The central entrance boasts a six-panelled door framed by a moulded wood surround. There are also two flat-topped dormers and a brick parapet with ashlar kneelers on the right side. Brick stacks are located at both ends of the house. Inside, the room to the left of the entrance contains remnants of an 18th-century alcove with a curved back.
