Description
Nos. 42 and 43 Broad Green are two houses, now functioning as a house and shop. They date from the early 18th century and late 19th century, with 20th-century alterations. The buildings are constructed of squared coursed ironstone and rendered brick, topped with a 20th-century plain tile roof. No. 42 was originally designed as a two-unit plan, while No. 43 was originally a two-unit terrace plan; currently, No. 42 serves as a single-unit shop with accommodation above in No. 43. The structure is two storeys high and features a four-window range of 19th-century sashes and 20th-century casements. No. 42 includes a 20th-century shop front, and No. 43 has a 20th-century door with a 19th-century sash window to the right. There is a brick stack at the ridge and at the end of the building.
