Description
1 and 1A Hatton Gardens are two houses that have been combined into one. They date from the late 18th century and are built of ironstone ashlar with a slate roof. Originally, each house likely had a two-unit plan. The building stands three storeys high and features a four-window range.
No.1 has a central five-panelled door with a moulded wood doorcase, reeded pilasters, an arched fanlight, and an open pediment. No.1A has a four-panelled door located to the far right, which is framed by a moulded wood surround. The windows of No.1 consist of a three-window range of sashes with glazing bars, all set under flat stone arches. In contrast, No.1A has a one-window range of sashes that are positioned at a lower level than those of No.1. The building has an ashlar gable parapet on the right side and brick stacks at the ridge and ends. The interior has not been inspected.
