Description
This building is a pair of cottages constructed in red brick using Flemish bond, topped with a hipped tiled roof. It stands two storeys high with attics, with each cottage consisting of one bay and being two rooms deep. The cottages feature six-panelled doors set in panelled doorcases, each adorned with a flat canopy supported by console brackets. The windows are sixteen-paned sashes with stone sills and slightly cambered 22-centimeter rubbed brick heads. The south elevation of Varchoel Villa also showcases sixteen-paned sashes on each floor of each bay, with the panes being square in proportion, along with an inserted casement window at the centre. The eaves are decorated with dentilled brickwork, and there is a stack on the party wall at the centre. Additionally, there is a lean-to outbuilding associated with No. 2, which now serves as a garage and includes a loft on the north (road) elevation, with the north wall constructed of stone.
