Description

The former salt warehouse at Newbridge is a fine two-storey building designed in the late Georgian style. It features rusticated stone quoins and coped gable parapets with moulded kneelers and corniced stacks. The walls are made of rubble, with brickwork eaves and a slate roof. On the upper floor, there are two square openings with masonry surrounds and iron bars, while the ground floor has similar outer openings with adjoining boarded doors. There are remains of seating and a timber support for a loading crane at the right-hand angle of the building. The right gable end includes segmental arched loading doors that connect to the ground floor opening. The single-storey rear elevation has a high central loading door flanked by square, barred openings, reflecting a similar architectural treatment.
