Description
The Four-Arch Aqueduct over the Vyrnwy Flood Plain, known as the Northern Arches, is a Grade II listed structure located at New Bridge Vyrnwy. It features squared stone cappings and quoins, with rubble facings. The aqueduct has four round arches made of blue brick, which have been rebuilt. The arch rings on both sides meet at low, stepped cutwaters that have pyramidal tops. The outer ends of the structure are checked forward and include curved abutments that slope down to low brick piers. Additionally, there are paired oval brace-plates at the haunches of each arch.
