Description

Plas Esgair is a building featuring rubble stonework and a slate roof, originally two storeys but later raised to three. It has three bays at the front and a contemporary four-bay rear service wing. The building has wide boxed eaves with sparse modillion brackets and gable stacks. The main entrance is located on the approach side at the start of the service wing, consisting of a door set in a glazed screen, both featuring Gothic pattern glazing bars. There is also a similarly glazed door and screen leading to the verandah on the opposite side. The ground floor has twelve-paned sash windows that extend nearly to the ground, while the first floor has nine-pane sashes and the top floor has six-pane sashes. A later canted bay window is situated in the right bay of the ground floor. The rear wing contains six-pane sashes. The verandah, which has likely been altered, is supported by timber posts and features a slated roof, covering three sides of the building. Additionally, there is a rendered extension to the left with canted ends.
