Description
Cwm Farmhouse is a late 17th century or early 18th century L-plan building. It has two storeys and is constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof and rubble stacks at each gable end. The central door is sheltered by a rough iron canopy. The cross-windows are mostly replacements of various sizes, with the ground floor windows featuring flat voussoir lintels. At the rear, there is a mullion and transom window that illuminates the stairs.
Inside, there is a large central stair hall with 18th century stairs, which include a deep moulded handrail, squared newels with half balusters, although some balusters are missing. The doors have raised and fielded panels, fitted with H-hinges and ogee-moulded architraving. The fireplace surround in the rear parlour wing is adorned with rich bolection mouldings and an overmantel featuring a framed panel and moulded cornice. A similar fireplace surround is found in the room above. The upper room to the right includes a hob grate, while the ground floor room to the left retains part of a large 18th century built-in dresser along two walls.
