Description
Upper Llandewi is a former cruck house that underwent rebuilding in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is one-and-a-half storeys tall and is positioned on a slope, with a wash-house and dairy extension at the lower end. The building is constructed of rubble stone, which has been overpainted, and features a slate roof along with a rubble porch located to the left of the center. There are four small eaves dormers and brick stacks at the ridge and upper end of the house. The windows are small-paned casements from the 19th or 20th century, set under timber lintels.
Inside, one cruck truss is visible in the upper end gable, and there is a large central stack that has back-to-back fireplaces. The room to the right of the stack features ovolo-moulded beams, while the room to the left has large close-set chamfered joists. Stone-built winder stairs rise in an alcove on the north side of the stack. Additionally, there are two salting slabs in the dairy.
