Description

This is a three-storey outbuilding dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, constructed from local stone with a slate roof. It features one bay with a gable end facing the road. At road level, there are two arched open fronted trap houses. The first floor contains stables that are accessed from a steep driveway at the rear and originally had a six-panelled 'Welsh Cross' door. The top floor includes the ostler's lodging. The stable floor has blank arched recesses on the gable elevation and a large round-headed opening leading to the lodging. There are two 20th-century timber windows on the side elevation. This outbuilding is said to have been originally intended to accommodate guests for the annex to Pen-y-lan.
