Description
The King's Head Public House is a building of group value, dating to the 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof, and has two main floors plus attics. The building is three bays wide, originally designed with a central entrance leading to a lobby and reception rooms on either side. Gable brick stacks rise from the roof. Service outbuildings are located at the rear. The central bay of the building is slightly projecting and shaped as a gable, featuring a central part-glazed door on the ground floor. The windows are tripartite sashes, with replaced sashes on the first floor. A round-headed window is centrally positioned on the first floor, and a shorter arched window is set within the pediment. Small gabled dormers are visible in the roof, with newly installed small-paned glazing. Internally, there are parallel double spine beams, and a large fireplace is located in the room to the right of the entrance.
