Description
Tan-y-Fron is a two-storey building constructed from rubble stone and topped with a hipped slate roof. The front block features two bays and includes a stair at the rear that connects to an added rear block with a cross wing.
The entrance is located on the north side and is framed by a three-bay shallow arched arcade made of timber, linking the front to the rear wing. Each arch is adorned with a key and ball pendant. The front elevation showcases long French windows on the ground floor, which have arched glazing bars and are set beneath cambered stone arches. The first floor features six-paned sash windows, also decorated with intersecting 'Gothic' tracery. The hipped roof is complemented by a tall central brick stack that supports four yellow vented clayware pots, along with an additional stack on the rear wall.
On the northeast elevation, a stair window above the verandah is designed as a long narrow rectangle that opens into an oval at the center, filled with a web pattern leading. The rear wing and block have a long sloping roof and include a 16-paned sash window.
