Description

Cil Bach is a Grade II listed building featuring a forward gable with close studding on the ground floor and diagonal bracing on the upper floor and gable. There is a later entrance located in the re-entrant angle, which consists of a boarded door. The building has timber and some PVC windows. The east gable is constructed of brick and includes a lean-to on the ground floor that contains the current entrance. A central brick stack is present, and the west wall of the forward parlour was rebuilt around 1992.

Inside, the hall-kitchen to the right of the original lobby entry has two longitudinal chamfered beams. The reworked front parlour on the left features twin deep chamfered spine beams and chamfered and stopped joists. It also contains a bolection moulded door and a 17th-century fielded-panel corner cupboard with arched doors, cyma cornice, and shaped internal shelves. An unusual Art Nouveau chimneypiece with repoussé copper panels is also present. The original stair located at the rear of the stack has been replaced. An added room features a high ceiling with a chamfered spine beam and joists, along with a gable fireplace that has an early 20th-century surround, although the stack has been removed. The front chamber above the parlour has straight windbraces connecting to the purlin and wall plate, and there is a scratch moulded door.
