Description
Allan's is a building that was remodeled around 1900, originally dating from the late 18th century. It forms the right-hand end of a small Georgian symmetrical terrace. The building is three stories tall and features a three-window front made of coursed rubble, with gables. It has a slate roof and a red brick chimney stack on the left, while the right side is also made of rubble. The windows are horned sash types; the second-floor windows extend above the eaves, and the central first-floor window is flanked by splayed oriel windows. The original openings for the second-floor windows are still visible. The gables are adorned with applied timberwork, cresting, and finials. The shop front has rounded corners, a ramped fascia, and a central entrance. The right gable end is made of rubble, and similar detailing is found at the rear, which includes a gabled cross range.
