Description
Buttington Old Hall Farmhouse is an 18th-century, two-storey and attic farmhouse constructed from rubble stone, with the upper floor made of brick, all of which is painted on the south front elevation. The building features slate roofs and consists of two parallel roofed blocks, with the eastern side likely being the earlier section made of stone and heightened with brickwork. A large brick chimney stack is centrally located in the valley of the roof. There is a lean-to outshut along the north side of the western block, which contains the farm entrance.
The main entrance is accessed by eight steps on the south elevation of the eastern block. It features a half-glazed door with an overlight, set within a moulded and panelled doorcase that is contained in an open trellis porch. The windows are small-paned timber, with a 19th-century canted oriel window on the ground floor of the eastern block.
Inside, the farmhouse has a staircase with slender turned balusters.
