Description

Buttington Limekilns consists of three kilns that are all of a similar design. They feature roughly coursed rubble retaining walls that are slightly sloped back, and each has steeply cambered arches leading to the drawing tunnels. The firing holes have been bricked up. The two southern kilns are connected by a low arched passage at the drawing tunnels. Additionally, the circular, brick-lined charging holes are still intact and can be seen at canal level.
