Description

Bryn Tirion is a two-storey villa built in local shaley masonry that is informally coursed, featuring five windows and two rooms deep. The sides and rear are finished in smaller uncoursed masonry, and the front gables also use this material. The steeply pitched roofs are slated with plain tile ridges and have brick chimneys. The roof is designed in an H plan, with large flanking gables at both the front and rear, and a small central gable at the front. The front features decoratively carved bargeboards, although the finials are eroded. The central unit at the front is narrow and slightly recessed. At the rear, there is a small later bathroom extension that is roughcast.

The front windows consist of 12 panes, with exposed frames, hornless sashes, and handmade glass. They have stone sills and lintels. The door at the center has two glazed panels and a rectangular overlight, set in a cased opening. There are small windows at the sides and rear, including some 20th-century sash windows that have been replaced.

Inside, the layout is symmetrical, with reception rooms at the front, a kitchen at the rear left, and a dining room at the rear right, connected by a rear corridor. The reception rooms have three-panel doors, and an opening has been made from the kitchen to the left reception room. There is a large central hallway featuring a painted dogleg staircase and a small cellar.
