Description
Upper Cwm-yr-Ingel is a 2-storey, 2-window house constructed of rubble stone with a corrugated iron roof. The gable ends and associated stone stacks have partly collapsed and have been replaced by corrugated iron sheets on the left side. The central doorway still shows one wall of a former porch. The lower storey features wooden frames of 2-light casements, while the upper storey has small windows located beneath the eaves. The left gable end retains fragments of walls from an attached farm range.
The rear of the house is stepped, indicating where the wall has been raised. There is a blocked wood-framed window to the left of centre and a narrow opening to the right.
The 17th century plan has been preserved, with the hall still featuring its post-and-panel partition. The doorway leading to the parlour has a segmental head. Additionally, RCAHM Wales has recorded four cruck trusses within the structure.
