Description
The Sun Hotel is a two-storey establishment built in cream-painted brickwork, facing south towards the main street of the village. The original structure is L-shaped, featuring a three-bay range that faces the street and a rear wing on the east side. The main range has been extended to the east with an additional two bays that are slightly set back. The hotel is topped with regular slate roofs, which include a hip at the return of the main range and an end chimney on the rear wing. There are also further single-storey extensions to the east and at the rear.
The original section of the hotel has three upper windows that are 16-pane hornless-sash types, aligned with the openings below. The ground floor features a central door flanked by larger sash windows similar to those above. To the right of the main entrance is an additional door. Both doors are semi-glazed and have rectangular overlights, with the left door's overlight being blank, and they are covered by canopies supported on brackets.
The later extension to the right includes two 16-pane hornless sash windows above and below, with a central modern semi-glazed door that is topped by a simple pediment. The sides and rear of the building feature modern fenestration.
