Description
No. 3, Rose Cottages is part of an irregular terrace of cottages, which includes one large cottage on the left and four smaller ones symmetrically arranged around a rear entry passage. Among the four smaller cottages, there is one single fronted, two double fronted, and one single fronted with an additional window above the door. The terrace is constructed from local light red brick at the front, with uncoursed stonework at the rear and right gable. The exposed part of the left gable is finished with slate hanging above the brickwork. The roof is made of slate with a tile ridge and features five mid-chimneys.
The double-fronted cottage includes an arched common rear entry at the center of the terrace. This cottage retains the characteristic crossed glazing bars in the heads of both the upper and lower windows, and it has a modern boarded door.
