Description
The Cann Office Hotel is a 2½ or 3 storey hotel that faces south towards a garden area, but is mainly approached from the east side. The building is constructed of stone and brick, painted cream, and features a roof that is part hipped and part gabled, covered in slate. The roof ridges are tiled, while the hips are finished with metal flashing. It has tall, slender red-brick chimney stacks.
On the south front, the hotel presents a symmetrical range of three windows in rendered brick, standing 2½ storeys high with three dormers that extend through the eaves. The roof is hipped at both ends. The windows, which have been replaced in timber in the 20th century, include mullions and transoms, casements, and small panes. There are doors located at the center and to the right, each with rectangular overlights. To the left of this range is the flank of a single storey west extension that features an end chimney.
The east entrance side, which faces the car park, has a quasi-symmetrical appearance, although the fenestration is slightly offset to the right. The left side of this elevation is made of brick, while the right side is constructed of stone. The roof is hipped only on the left side. There are two two-light windows on the second storey and two three-light windows on the first. The ground storey features a doorway with a canopy supported by stone piers, a panelled door, a rectangular overlight, a two-light window to the left, and a three-light window to the right. The windows do not align vertically. There is a lateral chimney to the left and the name "Cann Office Hotel" is displayed centrally.
The north elevation faces the road and consists of a three-storey gable on the left and a two-storey gable on the right, with single-storey annexes to the right that include a forward-extending kitchen with a gabled roof and a dining room with a hipped roof. A small central gabled porch leads to the door, and the windows have been modernly replaced. There is a hanging inn-sign on the left.
Inside, the entrance corridor runs through the building from east to west, with rooms branching off, including a small servery or tap-room on the left. The flooring features coloured tile paving.
