Description
Rhiwlas, formerly a rectory, is a well-proportioned two-storey, three-window parsonage built in the Regency style, featuring axe-dressed slate masonry. It has a low-pitched hipped slate roof with a generous overhang. The house is L-shaped, with its main range facing south-east towards a lawn and garden, while the two-window return range to the right faces the approach from the north-east.
The main elevation is symmetrical, showcasing three 12-pane windows above and two below, which are either hornless sash windows or modern hinged imitation sash windows. There is a timber canopy over the entrance door, supported by two round columns with half-columns behind. The entrance features a modern replaced door with a Regency architrave and a rectangular overlight. The north-east elevation has similar windows, but includes a blind window at the top left, while the lower sash windows are horned.
The rear of the house is irregular, with a single-storey annexe and a small two-storey annexe located in the angle of the main and return ranges. To the west, there is an open-sided coach house. A low wall separates the rear yard of the house from the stable yard to the north-west. The interior has not been seen.
