Description
The Miller's Cottage is a two-storey building with two bays and a continuous outshot at the rear, featuring a pitched slate roof over both sections. It is constructed entirely of whitened rubble stone and has two stone chimney stacks at the gables. The front door is located against the chimney at the northern end, set within a gabled porch with timber facing. The upper storey includes two horizontal sliding sash windows with four panes each, positioned beneath the eaves. The ground floor has four similar windows, also with four panes, set under segmental brick arches. Additionally, there is one iron casement window in the northern gable.
Inside, the main range consists of two living rooms, both of which have fireplaces in their original locations, although the fireplace in the southern room has been altered. The service rooms in the rear outshot have been modified to create a modern kitchen and bathroom, but they still retain the entrance passage and the original layout. Notably, there is a bread oven in the east wall of the current bathroom, which is connected to the gable chimney stack. The staircase, likely in its original position, rises from the western side of the northern room.
