Description

Britdir Lock is a structure featuring a blue brick-lined lock chamber with stone copings. It has single timber gates at both ends, which were replaced in 1982. The lower entrance to the lock is flanked by curved stone walls that step down in height, and there is a flight of steps on the east side leading down to the water level. An overflow system carries water around the lock to the northwest.
