Description
The Horseshoes Public House is a 17th-century building featuring a front range constructed of random rubble, topped with a slate roof and a brick axial stack that has star-shaped shafts above a brick base, which includes a nogged string course. The timber framing is complemented by painted brick nogging that is visible on the inner face of the rear wing. The structure is one and a half storeys tall and has a two-unit plan with a central baffle entry located in a gabled porch. This porch is adorned with scalloped barge-boards and a four-centred outer arch. The building includes two-light casement windows with transoms and small panes, set within splayed architraves that feature yellow brick heads. There are also similar small-paned windows above, situated beneath wide dormer gables that have scalloped barge-boards. To the right, there is a lower range that is a later addition.
