Description

Wansford Lock is a lock built in 1770 for the Driffield Navigation. It is constructed of red brick with gritstone dressings. The lock features a shaped basin with sloping sides and has massive capstones. The west gate has been renewed, while the east gate was in a derelict state at the time of the re-survey. A single timber mooring post remains on the north side.
