Description

Snakeholme Locks are canal locks built around 1768 by John Grundy for the Driffield Navigation. They are constructed of brick with gritstone dressings and consist of two staircase locks. The chambers have parallel sides that narrow towards the gates. The downstream and central gates are still intact, while a single upstream gate remains.
