Description
No. 1 Glandwr is a semi-detached two-storey cottage, part of a pair with No. 2, built in red brick. The left cottage is a light red color, while the right cottage is a darker red. The front of the left cottage has a very slight asymmetry, with the lower windows being slightly larger than those above, and it features shallow pilasters framing the entrance. The right cottage has less subtle detailing. Both cottages have random slate roofs in graded courses with a tile ridge, and they feature end chimneys as well as one mid chimney, all made of brick.
The door casings of both cottages are similar, with broad shallow pilasters that have a key design, supporting a plain frieze and cornice. There is a small overlight with glazing bars arranged in a brick-bond pattern. The window openings have cambered arches made of common brick and stone sills, with hornless 16-pane sash windows. The entrance includes a four-panel semi-glazed door. In front, there is a brick and stone wall enclosing a small forecourt, which is complemented by iron railings and a central gate.
