Description
Llansantffraid Bridge is a bridge featuring two high segmental spans, each approximately 20 meters long between the piers. It is constructed from local uncoursed shaley stone with sandstone voussoirs. The central pier has rounded cutwaters on both sides, which support a semicircular pedestrian refuge. There are smaller refuges located over the end piers. A broad string course runs along the base of the parapets, extending around the refuges.
The carriageway measures about 4 meters in width and is flanked by low parapets made of similar masonry, although part of the parapet has been replaced by orthostat stones at the southeast corner. A pedestrian pavement has been created on the east side, and an additional safety rail has been added to increase the height of the parapet on this side only.
