Description
The barn range at Tyleheulog is a collection of outbuildings, primarily featuring a large early 19th-century barn constructed from rubble stone, topped with a stone-tiled roof. The barn has full-height double doors and two rows of two vent loops on the left side, while the right side is obscured by an added lean-to. The rear of the barn also has similar vent loops on the right, and a rear door that is blocked by a single-storey outbuilding positioned at right angles.
At the left end, there is a low lofted building with a weatherboard front, a slate roof, and a stone end wall that includes outside steps leading to a loft door. The stone rear wall is intact, and the front features 20th-century weatherboarding with two doors. On the right end, there is a large late 19th-century lofted range, also built from rubble stone, with red-brick framed openings that have cambered heads. This section includes two loft lights—one with a cambered head and the other positioned slightly higher under the eaves. The ground floor has three closely spaced doors and four additional doors that are more widely spaced.
The interior of the barn range is not available for inspection.
