Description
Minfor, formerly known as Vane Almshouses, is a single-storey building with a painted roughcast exterior featuring a symmetrical front that has four bays. The central and penultimate bays are advanced and gabled. It has a slate roof with wide boarded eaves and cresting, along with four pairs of octagonal stone chimney stacks. The building is adorned with ornamental bargeboards that include pendants and finials, although the pendant on the central gable is missing.
The windows are 2-light casements with diamond leaded glazing, and the outer gabled bays have modern glazed infill where the former entrances were located, complete with elliptical arched labels. The central entrance, located below a slate datestone, features a recessed timber panelled door. The rear of the building has twelve windows with a simple diamond pattern glazing.
